Day 7

So we went out to the garage for an hour and a half tonight. It wasn't very cold tonight so we managed to stay warm this time.

The first thing we ended up doing, is cutting the screw holding the Battery Holder on. The screw is very rusted out and impossible to get out. So out came the Dremel to cut the screw. I was attempting to get a picture of all the pretty sparks flying everywhere and this was the best I could get.

Once we got the battery holder off and a few other things... we started stripping the paint off the engine bay. It actually looked like a lot of fun, so I got in on the action.

This is what it looks like after grinding down to the metal.

We also took off some plate things (I don't know the terminology) that covered the shocks. There were lots of spider webs and beehives up in there. It was gross. That was probably the dirtiest part of the night because it required me to sit and crawl around the floor of the garage. I was pretty dirty once we were done.

So my goal is to have this done by August of this year. I am not sure if it is attainable... but I told Mike that's my goal so now we have to try to stick to it. The biggest obstacle is Money, but hopefully we can get it all figured out. I am just anxious to have it all restored. It will be a long road, but I am glad I have the opportunity to watch and even help it get restored. For now I guess I can only dream about what it will look like.
