Things are getting crazy around here with the mad dash to get this car done. It is very hard to keep up. So I am going to try to do a blog entry every day which will cover all progress made the previous day. So I will be running about a day behind on my blog. So this would be everything that happened yesterday when the car was brought home. Except for this first picture. It was actually taken this morning but I love it. I have pretty much made myself comfortable in the mustang. There are no seats so I just dragged a blanket out here and my laptop. So I can sit out here and blog, and as it shows in the picture, I can also facebook. It is nice being able to be out here and not miss out on all the amazing progress being made. Plus Mike claims he doesn't mind having me out here as company when he is working.
Ok, this is where we start back at the pictures from yesterday. The car got here and they went right to work on getting the car back on its wheels again.
Mike, his dad, and Gary (who painted the car) all working together to get the rear axle assembly on the car.
The rear wheels back on the car
Getting the front suspension stuff put together
The wheels are on so they then worked to get the car off the cart... which required jacks and the engine hoist to lift the car up and off the ground.
I LOVE the rear taillights. They look so good!
Mike started getting things all setup in the engine bay. Getting ready to drop the engine and transmission into the car (which actually took place today, therefore it will be in tomorrows post).
He also got the radio and wiring all in the dash.
I caved and went to bed at about 1 AM. Mike stayed up working on the car until 5 AM. So this morning we got up and I got the see all the progress he had made after I had gone to bed. The engine bay stuff, and wiring in the dash were all done while I was sleeping.
I am honestly amazed at how fast things are happening with the car now. It is so overwhelming! I also don't want to miss anything. I hope to spend as much time out in the garage as possible. Watching the car come back together is just amazing. I was able to witness this stage of the restoration on Mike's parents Pace Car, but it is even more exciting when it's my car coming together.
Very exciting stuff! I am really hoping I will be able to keep up with it all!
