This first picture Mike got a bit snippy when I took it and said it was not a good photo moment. That being because I choose the moment when he was getting really frustrated with putting the brake power booster in. He had to drill out a hole in the firewall to fit it in since this car did not originally come with power brakes.
The gas tank is bolted in the car. More wiring in the dash
Now, the reason for this blog title. The Engine and Transmission were reunited with the car. This is the engine bay all covered and protected for the engine going in.
The engine poised and ready to go in.
It's in! Well kind of. The engine was not fitting down into the motor mounts. The motor mounts were reproductions that apparently were not manufactured right. So Mike ended up using the original motor mounts after cleaning and painting them. Once he got the motor mounts replaced, the engine fit in nicely.
I didn't expect the engine would be back in the car by the 2nd day having the car back. It blows my mind how fast this car is being reassembled!
