Camera Saga

So I really worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the restoration from this point on... but I seem to be doing not too shabby on blog posts. Interestingly enough its the camera's that can't keep up. The camera I have been using all along is apparently on it's last leg. It works only when it wants to. So I can be going along taking pictures and it will randomly shut off. Then two minutes later will work again as if nothing ever happened.

So I dug out Mike's fairly new camera that really as not been used too much. Of course the battery was dead so I had to throw it on the charger. The next day I used it but sadly every single picture on I took turned out horribly blurry. So that camera is just not going to work for me.  Mike's cell phone actually takes pretty decent pictures... I am just weary of it since the Mid Mountain Marathon I tried to take pictures with his cell phone and managed to only get a picture of his feet. Sadly it is currently the most reliable camera I seem to have. Although I have noticed it takes more yellow shaded pictures.

So for the time being I am pretty much using my camera when it wants to work for me... and going to also use Mikes cell phone when needs be. Mike's nice camera is out since apparently you have to have some serious holding-still skills to make pictures turn out with that. I guess I shouldn't complain because at least I do have other picture options, but why does this all have to happen now... at the craziest part of the restoration??!!

Anyways on to pictures.  Mike and his dad put the hose for the windshield wiper fluid in.
Then came the dash pad on the dashboard. That was exciting. Prior to that going on, they put speakers in the dash. Sadly the picture I have with that was on the blurry camera.
Notice how the car suddenly went from red to orange? That would be the way Mikes cell phone sees the car. I much prefer the pictures to depict the car as close to what it is in real life as possible... but I just have to do with what I have.
Once again, orange. I swear it's really red. Notice in the background you can see where I was setup last night.... the chair and my laptop sitting on a TV tray. Not as comfy as sitting in the actual car but I didn't want to be in the way.
So I went to bed at this point. I was exhausted! I guess Mike was out pretty late working on the car again. When I got off work today I came in and he showed me his progress. Such a beautiful sight seeing the dash almost totally completed. It looks great with the instrument cluster and the other trim. It is starting to assemble a car more and more every day.
So just a side note...from today. I know I am trying to blog about all last nights work and all tonight's work will be tomorrow's blog. I have to stray from that for a minute and talk about our little trip to the DMV. Apparently getting the lost title for this thing is going to be a bit more difficult than we thought. We had to wait to have the car back so Mike's cop friend could sign our Vin# verification form. So that all happened today. I am happy to report that it came back as not stolen. Good to know my dad's not a thief. So that meant we could finally file the paperwork with the DMV today. At this point we may not be able to get the title and get this registered before the car show. At least that's what it sounds like from turning in the paperwork to the Utah DMV.  Mike did call a DMV in Oregon (since the car was last registered in Oregon in 1981). They said they have purged files that far back so they will have to check their microfilm. So they will get back to us within a week. So maybe they will be faster dealing directly with them than the Utah office. Guess we will see. Keeping fingers crossed we can get this all squared away and the car registered in time for the show!
