Not Much to Say

So It feels like we will have times where there is just so much to post on here, but then dry spells as well. I guess we are kind of headed into a dry spell. There is still progress being made on my car, just not in actual work. We are in buying mode. So basically that means that Mike is watching Ebay like a hawk. So far he has found some good deals and has been buying a lot of parts.

We currently have UPS stopping by daily to drop off more car parts. Most of the parts don't make sense to me, but the occasional thing gets my attention. The seat buns for example. I know what those are, and I understand the purpose of them. So when those arrived the other day I begged Mike to let me test them out, but he wouldn't go for it. Apparently I wont get to feel how soft the seat buns are until they are actually on the seat and back in the car.

We are STILL waiting on the floor. So the latest word is that it has officially shipped, but is shipping from somewhere overseas. So we will probably see it in another 3 months! I am just glad that we are not up against a deadline. We still have another year before the car has to be done. Although I would love to see it done long before then. I was kind of hoping that by letting Mike bring all the car parts into the dinning room, it would make him anxious to get the car done and get the parts out of the house. That does not appear to be the case. So I guess I will just have to accept that fact that half of my car is sitting in my dinning room, and will be sitting in my dinning room for probably another year.

Day - 28 - A New Door

Mike got out and got the paint sanded off the new door. We managed to get a nice door for pretty cheap.
Apparently this door use to be home to a whole bunch of bees. Luckily they were not still occupying the door when we got it.

We are still waiting on the floor. It didn't show up when we expected, so we found out that it was on backorder. So then we were given another shipping estimate date... only for it to go on backorder again. So we are looking into other floors in the meantime since the floor we ordered apparently wont be available any day soon.

In the meantime... Mike has been sandblasting parts like crazy. All of the parts are collecting on the dinning room table. We also have pulled out all the parts from the storage room so we could go through and do inventory. We want to make sure we are not buying duplicates not realizing we already had a part hidden away in storage. Therefore.... we have lots of boxes all over. Honestly, I don't mind it because it means we are making progress on the car.

So all in all... there is still progress being made on the car... even if it is in the form of car parts being sandblasted and stored on the dinning room table. Hopefully someday soon the floor will get here so we can get back to doing the bigger stuff on the car.
